We’re back. Chris and I have a lot to take care of while we’re in town, so the posts will be brief.

In the next few weeks I’m going to give you a few snippets……slices of life geared towards those who are planning to visit soon, or haven’t been here for awhile.

The first thing I noticed while shopping at Devto was the Chicken and Vegetable Index is more favorable than it was a year ago. This Index is one of our finger to the wind Cost of Living indicators. A kilo of very fresh whole chicken is about $2/kilo, about a dollar a pound. Several types of healthy, fresh veges are less than a dollar a kilo. Other prices seen more in line with what we saw two years ago. The stronger dollar of course takes most of the credit, but still it’s a good sign.

So it appears to at first glance, that while not cheap (it never was), Uruguay is once again a good value.

Stay Tuned!

Steve
